The State of Our Education
Our primary concern is on the state of examination malpractice in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It is worst in secondary schools. Examination malpractice has become an accepted norm in Nigeria. The involvement of parents and school/subject teachers has made students not to pay attention in class and do not bother to prepare for examination, because they are sure there will be answers provided by the teachers to them during the examination.
Some of the students even get their answer script completely written for them outside the exam hall. The external invigilators comply with the corrupt system and accept these scripts. The parents finance the whole process. The Nigerian internet space has even worsened issues. Individuals provide answers to examination questions of the senior school certification examination for both WAEC and NECO online through Google, YouTube and WhatsApp. Government agencies in the country turn blind eyes to all these.
UDIMKING Education Foundation is sympathetic with the children and the future generation. The parents do all these things not for the interest of the children but to protect their public image amongst their peers. We are out to reverse this trend by helping the students to believe in themselves, develop self-motivation, and become self-confident.
